Support for PS4 game creation tool Dreams is ending in September
Media Molecule announced it is terminating live support for its game creation engine, Dreams.
The decision to discontinue live support for Dreams will come into effect from 1st September 2023.
The game won't shut down entirely, but there won't be any more updates or community-centered events hosted by Media Molecule.
The Dreams community has been long asking for the ability to export their creations away from the Sony-exclusive platform.
The feature to export creations will not be added before support for the game ends.
Media Molecule is working on migrating Dreams' servers for continued security and stability.
The server migration will reduce the amount of storage space available for Dreams creations.
Players using Roblox or Fortnite have methods in place to share their work within the system.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney thinks there will be a future where a game made in Fortnite could be transferred to Unreal, Epic's more formal game engine.
Media Molecule is working on a new project that is not a sequel to Dreams or anything Dreams-related.
